Hello, I’m Hannah!

I am a queer, white, cisgender woman (she/her pronouns), living and working on unceded Annishnabe Algonquin territory (Ottawa, Ontario). I am a Registered Social Worker, psychotherapist, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and provide therapy to individuals ages 12+.

My work in the field of mental health began in 2007 and I completed my Masters of Social Work at Carleton University in 2011. I spent the following decade working in the social services sector with children, youth, and adults from 2SLGBTQ+ communities. I opened my independent psychotherapy practice in 2021, and work with people who have all sorts of reasons for coming to therapy, including:

  • Reclaiming their lives and bodies from trauma and chronic stress

  • Exploring sexual, romantic, and gender identity

  • (Re)Building relationships with their bodies and nervous systems

  • Wanting more emotional regulation / capacity to be with emotions

  • Navigating the world as a neurodivergent person

  • Being impacted by anxiety, panic, depression, and sadness

  • Feeling disconnected, numb, and shut down

  • Sharing their lives with fatphobia, sizeism, and disordered eating

  • Grieving and experiencing loss

I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers, am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and seek regular supervision and consultation. I’ve also done extensive training around narrative approaches to therapy and working with trauma from a nervous system level through the Vancouver School of Narrative Therapy, the Narrative Therapy Centre, and Somatic Experiencing Ottawa.
